Junction Alteration - Horley Town Centre

For public information only

16 February 2019

There has been a  change to the junction between Victoria Road and Consort Way East, now that the contractors have finished painting the markings on the road.

Previously, when travelling from Balcombe Road into Horley, there were two lanes at the traffic lights where you turn right at Collingwood Batchellor into Consort Way East, with a corresponding turn-right filter on the lights.

The new road markings now indicate a cycle lane on the left extending up to the lights and only one lane for cars. This is causing confusion for drivers, who do not know whether to straddle the cycle lane if they wish to drive straight ahead and leave the right-hand side free for traffic turning right, or whether there is only meant to be one lane for everybody.

The matter has been reported to Surrey Highways for investigation.
