Consultation on M23 Junctions 8 to 10 Smart Motorway Scheme
Highways England has launched a consultation to seek views on the proposed regulations to introduce variable mandatory speed limits to the planned M23 smart motorway scheme between junctions 8 and 10 and a permanent 50mph speed limit on the westbound carriageway of Gatwick Spur from M23 Junction 9 to Junction 9a.
As part of improvements planned for this scheme, variable mandatory speed limits between M23 J8 to 10 and a permanent 50mph speed limit on the westbound carriageway of Gatwick Spur from M23 Junction 9 to Junction 9a will be used. This will help manage traffic speeds and reduce congestion, while enabling safe operation of the motorway.
The consultation opens on 11th December 2017 and will close on 15th January 2018.
