Council Success in South & South East in Bloom
We are delighted to announce that Horley Town Council won two prestigious awards at this year’s South & South East in Bloom Awards Ceremony, which was held at Fareham Borough Council. We were very pleased to receive a Silver Gilt Award for the Town Centre for the second year and, for the fourth year running, a Silver Gilt Award was also won for Horley Recreation Ground. The judges said that they “were most impressed by the passion and the drive shown by Horley Town Council in brightening up the town, particularly in these difficult financial times”.
Cllrs Richard Olliver, Chairman & Town Mayor, Jack Chapman, Chairman of the Leisure Committee and Deputy Town Clerk Carol Fenton received the awards from the Blue Peter gardener, Chris Collins. Cllr Olliver said, “I was delighted that we received these Silver Gilt Awards for the town centre and Horley Recreation Ground and I am very pleased that we are able to maintain our high standard of floral displays for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
The Town Council will be holding its own Awards Ceremony for the Horley in Bloom and other associated competitions at the end of this month. This will take place at Regent Hall on Friday 28 September.
