Jubilee Fund Day
The event was run by local organisations, including Horley Town Council, Horley Chamber of Commerce, Horley Lions, Horley Round Table, 41 Club and local Scouts and Guides on Monday 4 June. The day started at 12 noon with a procession of marching bands and floats, which made their way down Victoria Road to the Horley Recreation Ground, Brighton Road. Many local groups had stalls in the park and there were arena events, including dance displays and singing from various groups including Vegas Nights, live rock band Blown Gasket and the Silver Ribbons School of Dance. There were also performances from drama group Orbit Shed and the Gatwick Caledonian Pipe Band.
In addition there was a children’s funfair and a variety of refreshment stalls, as well as a miniature railway, penalty shoot-out, zorbing balls (human hamster balls) and trampolines.
It was a great day and we were lucky with the weather keeping dry throughout the day. Thanks to everyone for all your support.
