New Planting at Horley Recreation Ground
We’d like to thank the volunteers from the Horley Conservation Group for all their help in planting a new hedge and some trees in the children’s play area at Horley Recreation Ground. The trees and hedge were funded by Surrey County Council through ‘I Dig Trees’ as part of our drainage project that seeks to dry up the surface of the playground. The hedgerow will take some time to establish but we are hopeful it will form part of the solution.
The Conservation group and Gatwick Greenspace partnership also put up some bat and bird boxes (kindly provided by Horley’s Men in Sheds) around the Recreation Ground so do look out for them.
Other engineering works will take place later in the year to further assist the drainage of the area. But for now we’d like to thank all those that gave up their Saturday to help.
