New Railings at Horley Recreation Ground

Horley Recreation Ground has just received a sparkling upgrade: brand-new railings that will not only enhance safety but also bring a fresh look. This project has been made possible through a successful grant funding application of £33,000 which we made to the Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Community Infrastructure Levy Fund.

After 60 years of service, the old railings have finally taken a well-deserved retirement. While they’ve stood strong for decades, it was time for a modern makeover. The new railings are not just a pretty face; they are designed to be more durable and functional, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the park safely for many years to come.

"We’re excited to see this project come to life," said Town Mayor, Cllr Martin Saunders. "These new railings will not only improve safety but also enhance the overall aesthetic of Horley Recreation Ground and the new gates will give much needed access to the Remembrance Garden for the Town's well attended annual Remembrance Parade'."

As families, friends and furry companions flock to the park for picnics, playdates and leisurely strolls, the new railings will create a welcoming and secure environment for all. This enhancement is just one of many steps towards revitalising our community spaces and making Horley an even better place to live and play.
