Co-Option of Town Councillor - Horley West ward

Horley Town Council

Press Release

May 2021

At the virtual Annual Meeting of Horley Town Council, held on 4 May 2021, Members elected to co-opt Andy Dye to the vacant Town Councillor position at Horley Town Council, to represent the Horley West ward.

Andy is a resident in Horley and has lived there for the last few years.  He is an IT Director at an investment bank in London.  He is married with two young children (who attend a local school) and he says his family’s roots are firmly established in Horley for the foreseeable future.

Andy states:

“I have been looking at ways to become more attached, put more roots down and get far more involved in supporting local life.  Becoming a school governor at a local school has been one way for me to do this but I also see the role of Town Councillor as another perfect way for me to become plumbed in to do more.

With my passion to become actively involved in supporting and shaping the future interests of the town and community, I am hoping that both my enthusiasm and life / work experiences will be useful in helping to compliment the council team but will also allow me to play an active role in ensuring the views and interests of our local residents are taken into consideration throughout all council business and decision making.”

Members and staff of Horley Town Council are delighted to welcome Andy on board and wish him every success and fulfilment in his new role of public office.
