Surrey Highways: TRO Various Roads

Notice - The Surrey County Council - Various Roads in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2021

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in: a) The entire length of D1068 Salisbury Road, Banstead; vehicular traffic will be diverted via B2217 Banstead High Street, B2217 Sutton Lane and A2022 Winkworth Road. b) The entire length of C137 Blackhorse Lane, Lower Kingswood; vehicular traffic will be diverted via: South-westbound - High Road, White Hill, Chipstead Lane and Brighton Road South. North-eastbound - Brighton Road South, Reigate Hill Interchange, Brighton Road North, Chipstead Lane, White Hill and High Road. c) That length of D336 Lee Street, Horley that extends from its junction with Mill Lane, to its junction with Mill Close; vehicular traffic will be diverted via D336 Mill Lane, A217 Reigate Road, Longbridge Roundabout, A23 Brighton Road, D334 Vicarage Lane and D336 Lee Street. d) That length of D350 Albert Road, Horley that extends from the access to “Horley Infant School”, south-eastwards for a distance of 250m; vehicular traffic will be diverted via D350 Albert Road, D353 High Street, D352 Yattendon Road, D352 Oakwood Road, A23 Bright Road and D350 Albert Road. e) That length of A217 Brighton Road, Burgh Heath (southbound only), that extends from the north-western property boundary of “St Mary’s Church” to the north-eastern property boundary of “Copse Lodge”; vehicular traffic will be diverted via A2022 Fir Tree Road, A240 Reigate Road, A2022 College Road, Alexandra Road, Upper High Street, A24 High Street, Ashley Road, Ashley Avenue, South Street, Dorking Road, Epsom Road, The Street, Leatherhead Road, By-Pass Road, Dorking Road, London Road/Mickleham By-Pass, London Road, Deepdene Avenue, A25 Reigate Road, Buckland Road, West Street, London Road, A217 London Road, Reigate Hill and Brighton Road. From A240 Reigate Road, left onto A217 Brighton Road (northbound) and follow the diversion route described above.

This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable highway maintenance and/or resurfacing, and/or improvement works on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 01 April 2021. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For parts a) to d) works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 5pm, for part e) works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and; dismounted cyclists and equestrians at all times. Access for residents and businesses on the affected lengths of road described in parts a) to e) to this notice, will be via the diversion routes described above. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
