‘Café in the Park’ Project – Horley Recreation Ground
Horley Town Council is very pleased to announce that Practical Completion and handover of the new Café Pavilion at Horley Recreation Ground took place on 20 November 2020.
The final construction is not only visually outstanding in its contemporary structure and stylish design but has been created through first class workmanship by a team of highly experienced and dedicated surveyors and contractors. Our appreciation is extended to everyone involved in the project for all their hard work and steadfastness through each phase of the build, especially in such unprecedented and challenging times with many obstacles to overcome during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
We hope that the new Café will provide a unique space to relax and enjoy a nice meal or to simply eat on the go with lots of healthier options and a variety of homemade selections too. Through popular appeal, it can also accommodate a comfortable al fresco dining space in fine weather. The new Tenants ‘The Farmyard Kitchen’ (TFK) have since taken occupation of the premises. They have put an enormous amount of hard work and commitment into this exciting new business venture to maximise the benefits the development has to offer as a popular new venue for the Horley community and visitors with an inviting message that everyone is welcome at ‘The Farmyard Kitchen …in the park’.
TFK has already won well-deserved recognition through the Trip Advisor award scheme this year and, once they can start trading, are aiming for a high footfall of visitors and memorable custom through their wide-ranging cuisine and menu choices. We expect the official opening to take place early in the New Year, subject to Government guidelines and the latest restrictions. Watch our website for the latest news of the opening! In the meantime, they have been getting to know the locals and visitors by operating their mobile unit at times from the car park which has proved to be very popular.
The Town Council is delighted to have reached conclusion of this major capital project and initiating this exciting new milestone for Horley. We hope that alongside the many popular recreational facilities already available, that the new tennis courts, extended car park and soft landscaping will be seen to transform the park into a flagship recreation ground. We would also like to thank our tenants of the Horley Bowling club for their full support during the construction period.
Finally, we would like to thank all residents and visitors for their continued co-operation in maintaining Government guidelines on the safe use of our play and recreational equipment at Horley Town Council parks and open spaces in recent months and continue to do so.
We send our very best wishes to you all and we sincerely hope you remain safe and well.
