Remembrance 2020

In the light of the Coronavirus pandemic and the need to protect the safety of the public, the Horley RBL will sadly not be holding their Remembrance Parade through Horley and Service in the Memorial Gardens this year.

Reigate & Banstead Commemorations will be filmed and streamed live on the day.  The Surrey Armed Services is encouraging all Surrey residents to take part in the Two Minutes Silence on their doorstep or inside their homes as a mark of Remembrance at 11.00 am on Remembrance Sunday.

The Town Council fully appreciates that Horley residents may still wish to visit the War Memorial during the Remembrance period to pay their respects and maybe plant Remembrance crosses, however we would ask that they avoid visiting at 11.00 am on Remembrance Sunday to prevent large groups gathering and also to ensure that they follow all social distancing rules whenever they do visit the Memorial Gardens.

The Royal British Legion is asking everyone to back the Poppy Appeal in a new way this year, please visit their website for further information
