Coronavirus Volunteers & Volunteer Groups
Want to volunteer?
It is fantastic to see that so many people are keen to help their local community during this time. We recommend that any residents interested in volunteering register with Voluntary Action Reigate and Banstead and we are redeploying some of our staff to help.
Voluntary Action Reigate and Banstead is coordinating and supporting volunteers - linking them with local organisations that need help.
To protect the vulnerable people in our community, we need to ensure this is managed carefully and that the necessary safeguarding checks are made.
Want to donate?
If you would like to donate funds to support local food banks, we have donation links for the following and will add more links when we receive them:
- Epsom and Ewell Foodbank (operates in the north of the borough)
- Loveworks (operates in the centre of the borough)
- St Matthew’s Foodbank (operates in the Redhill area)
- Welcare (East Surrey): www.welcare.org then click “donate” button and select “East Surrey”
Avoiding scams
Whilst the vast majority of people offering help are genuine, a small minority will be using this situation to exploit and potentially harm vulnerable people. By using established organisations we reduce the likelihood of our residents being exposed to potential harm. Here are some simple steps you can take to avoid scams.
