Horley in Bloom Competition Launched
The Horley in Bloom Organising Committee has formally launched this year’s competition. The following categories are:
- Residential (Front Garden)
- Residential (Back Garden)
- Cottage Garden
- Community (inc schools)
- Hanging Basket
- Allotments
- Guesthouse / B&B
- Commercial
There will also be a special award for newcomers to the competition. In liaison with Country Markets, a flower arranging completion will also be held. Further details of this will be announced later.
At last week’s meeting, Mike George was elected as the new Horley in Bloom chairman. Mr George is keen to sustain the progress of the competition, now in its 13th year. Mr George said “It is so pleasing that the competition has simply gone from strength to strength. As well as the summer competition, following public demand, I am pleased to announce that a new competition, Horley in Spring, has been introduced and judging will take place in Spring 2008. Entry forms for Horley in Spring will be available later in the summer”
Horley has also been entered in the South & South East in Bloom Competition, Town And City section.
