Horley Town Council Awards
The Town Council is delighted to have been awarded fourth place in the National Association of Local Council’s competition for Newsletter of the Year and to have received a commendation in the Best Website category. The Association represents over 10,000 local parish and town councils in England and Wales. Town Clerk Alan Jones, who acts as editor, and is advised by an Editorial Sub-Committee of five Town Councillors stated "We are absolutely delighted with this news. It acknowledges the efforts made by the Town Council to keep the local community regularly informed through our newsletters and web site."
Commenting on the newsletter, the panel of judges said: "A class, understated publication that looks professional without losing that personal touch. To its great credit, it is short and to the point, it crams in a lot of interesting information."
Commenting on the web site the judges added: "The excellent work of Horley Town Council is well translated by this site. Well designed, interesting and up to date, this site would be a credit to any parish or town council."
