Description: | The Society was formed in 1951 with the main aim of tracing, recording and disseminating information on all aspects of Horley and its surrounding villages in Surrey. Members have differing levels of involvement – some carry out research into topics with the intention of publishing their results while others are content to enjoy the monthly speakers and activities. We occasionally visit local events publicising the Society and we hold regular meetings. Over the years, we have produced a number of books and booklets. Details of these are available under publications. You can meet us at the local history centre at the Horley Public Library on Tuesday afternoons 3 to 5 pm and Saturday mornings 11 am to 1 pm. We can help with items such as the history of your road and may-be even your house, and we have access to local and some national family history resources. Get in touch with our Contact Form. |
