2019 REMEMBRANCE PROGRAMME
REDEDICATION OF THE GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE - WEDNESDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2019
The Garden of Remembrance will be rededicated by the local Clergy and opened by the Chairman of the Horley Town Council at the War Memorial, Brighton Road, Horley at 11.00 o’clock.
It is hoped that Pupils from Oakwood School will place Remembrance Crosses in the Garden in memory of Horley Branch members who passed-away during the year.
Everyone is welcome to attend and may place their own Crosses of Remembrancein the Garden should they wish to do so.
HORLEY ROYAL BRITISH LEGION – REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE & SERVICE - AT THE WAR MEMORIAL – SUNDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2019
10.00 Participants to assemble at the Horley RBL Headquarters, Albert Road.
10.30 The parade will form up in Consort Way West
1035 The parade will move off headed by the Redhill Corps of Drums Band, turning into VICTORIA ROAD, and will proceed across the traffic lights into VICARAGE LANE where the Parade will break off and walk to the WAR MEMORIAL GARDENS.
10.58 Introduction by the Chaplain, TWO MINUTES SILENCE followed by the SERVICE, and the WREATH LAYING CEREMONY.
11.35 The Parade will reassemble in VICARAGE LANE and return to the Albert Road Sports & Social Club, via VICTORIA ROAD, TOWN PRECINCT and ALBERT ROAD where the parade will be dismissed.
NATIONAL TWO MINUTES SILENCE – MONDAY 11TH NOVEMBER
The National Two Minutes Silence will be observed in the HORLEY TOWN SHOPPING PRECINCT on Monday 11th November at 11.00 o’clock.
PEOPLE OF ANY DENOMINATION ARE VERY WELCOME TO ATTEND AND JOIN US IN THIS OUR ANNUAL ACT OF REMEMBRANCE
Everyone is welcome to join us in remembering all those who have lost their lives in defence of the British Isles or fought and died overseas for their Country.
